Fall Fun!

Jake and Olivia have taken advantage of the terrific weather Indianapolis has been experiencing for the past week.  Many bike rides along with our first round of leaf clean up occurred this week. Our new house has many trees changing colors and the kids enjoy using the wheel-barrel to pick up walnuts.

Apple Orchard

We had a fantastic time at Tuttles Apple Orchard in nearby Greenfield, Indiana.  The weather was perfect for the kids to play in their kid zone.  We enjoyed picking apples and having cider slushies at the orchard.

Growing up!

At Jake and Olivia's daycare/preschool children have "moved up" into their new classroom.  Jake is in the Pre-k class and is so happy to have his own art box and backpack. Olivia is in the 1 year old room.  We are starting to realize Olivia is probably going to be left handed.  She has been holding crayons with her left hand and feeds herself using her left hand.  Both Jake and Olivia have transitioned well with their new teachers.

North Carolina!

We hope you had a fantastic Fourth of July.  Jake and Olivia made their first visit to North Carolina to vacation with relatives from Florida.  We stayed in the mountains in the northwest section in the state. Jake went on his first  mountain hike...sorta, and both children enjoyed watching a Fourth of July parade.

Stay tune next time with pictures of Jake playing t-ball and pictures of our new house!  We will be moving July 15th just two miles from our current location.  We are excited to share this time with you!

Jake began swim lessons this week with his best friend.  Jake was very happy to see his progress made on a check-off sheet.

Both Olivia and Jake are participating in the library's summer reading program.  We have finished levels 1 and 2. Finally, Olivia went with her big brother to the zoo. She loved looking at the animals while Jake loved the giraffes, dolphins, and riding the train.

Moving Forward!

After weeks of just taking a few steps at a time Olivia started walking just shy of turning 13 months!  Now we barely keep up with her.  We also have said bye-bye to bottles.  Sippy cups are working out very well for the big girl.

Jake is enjoying his start to summer vacation.  In a week Jake resumes swim lessons and will start t-ball in July.

Happy Birthday Jake!

Jake turned 4 years old on May 10th!  He celebrated eating cake with family and cupcakes with friends.  It is hard to believe that the big boy is growing up so fast.

Olivia is taking independent steps now.  She will take about 5 walking steps on her own before she sits down on the floor to crawl the rest of the way.  We can tell she is buiding her confidence to walk indepenedently.
